Have You Been To See Rupert The New Rhino At Mesker Zoo? (Photo)

Our family loves going to Mesker Zoo and visiting all the animals.  We were really excited to find out they added a new addition to the family before Christmas.  A rhino named Rupert-->Rupert made his arrival to the zoo in late 2017 coming from the Oklahoma City Zoo.  He is a 3 year-old Indian Rhinoceros.  Rupert is quite large weighing in at just over two tons making him just over 4,000 pounds.  Most adult male rhinos grow to be between 4,000-6,000 lbs.  Rupert joins Mechi a female rhino.  She came to the zoo after being found in the wild of Nepal.

According to zoo officials he is a stepping stone to a possibly of future breeding of baby rhinos.  How exciting!
