Owensboro Songwriter Hayley Payne's New Song "Runnin' Late"

Owensboro singer-songwriter Hayley Payne just released a brand new song and she's quick to tell you that it's her best work ever. I listened to "Runnin' Late" for the first yesterday afternoon and there's absolutely no question. I agree 100% and messaged Hayley to let her know.

I have been following Hayley since she was a teenager. Honestly, maybe even before that. Today, Hayley is living in Nashville and working full-time as a singer-songwriter. She's always had the dream of making it in Music City U.S.A. and that dream has become a reality. But she's still constantly pushing her boundaries as a singer and a songwriter and that hard work continues to pay off. See, she's realized some of her dreams already. There are even bigger ones she's aiming for.

With her new single, "Runnin' Late", all that commitment to her craft is on full display.

Her new song is REALLY good. I have worked in country radio for 25 years now and I can assure you- it's her most "radio" song she's ever released.

And the song is certainly making folks take notice. A fellow songwriter just asked Hayley to join him for an "In the Round" session next Saturday night at the legendary Bluebird Cafe. Hayley's taking the stage at 6pm on Saturday, December 10th.

As for the new song, there's a dual inspiration for it. Anyone who knows the Payne family will tell you they are perpetually early to things. Not Hayley. She's the proverbial black sheep of the family when it comes to promptness. She is always runnin' late and driving her family, particularly her dad, crazy.

Hayley also shared with me that she keeps seeing social media announcements from friends and former classmates. Many of them are settling down, getting married, buying houses and having kids. As Hayley says, "Right now in my life, that is so far off." See, she feels like she's runnin' late for all that stuff too.
