Corkscrew Curiosities is the most adorable little haven of treasures.  You'll find books old and new, vintage trinkets, stickers, fidgets, clothes, jewelry, local art, and even some wild oddities. Here's what I love about this quirky shop. (Keep scrolling for pictures!)

Taxidermied Cuties

Some of them you can purchase. Others live in the store, almost like mascots. A taxidermied albino deer head, a specimen snake with a fish in its mouth, and even a raccoon ready to hit the Pink Pony Club.

Yay! You did it! You Survived the Roundabout!

When I go to Henderson, I always stop in as a treat for surviving the roundabouts before heading back to Owensboro. The retro pop culture finds are like a time machine, and I love reading and laughing at the bumper stickers.

Silly Little Gifts

Here is a haul video I made after my last stroll around Corkscrew. Some silly little gifts and something I had been searching for for a while.

Historical Gems

You can find some real historical gems as well. Once, I spotted a little JET magazine from 1965 documenting the March on Montgomery. You may or may not know that one of the photographers, Moneta Sleet Jr., from Owensboro, KY, covered the Civil Rights movement and won the Pulitzer Prize for his work. You can learn more about him here.

Like so many of us who love the world of vintage and thrifting, owners Jasmine and Kyla appreciate the importance of preserving history. Even the name of their store honors their grandmother, Anna Jane Stanley. She owned the Corkscrew Deli, formerly at the corner of Main & 1st Street in downtown Henderson, Kentucky. You can read more about how she fostered their love for thrifting here.

Meaningful Gifts

We all have that special person whose "bad influence" rubbed off on us. The person who gave us the junk-hunting bug. Mine is my mama, and I am very grateful! I was able to surprise her with a beautiful custom laser-engraved necklace from Corkscrew. These creative and talented ladies were able to transfer my parents' wedding photo onto a charm. Complete with their wedding date. This gift meant THE WORLD to her.
