Like many folks in this area, I have fond memories of visiting Opryland USA. The beloved theme park in Nashville wasn't just awesome rollercoasters and attractions. You could watch amazing entertainers and an array of shows celebrating American music and history.

My parents LOVED going to those shows. Once I was tall enough to ride those awesome rollercoasters, I was more than happy to tag along. They would pay a teenager to go with us and take me around the park. I couldn't get enough Wabash Cannonball or Screamin' Delta Demon.

When we wanted to cool off on a hot summer day, we would go around on Grizzly River Rampage or head to Chaos. The indoor coaster was a special sci-fi movie experience, and in full honesty, a place to beat the heat. So sometimes it was PACKED. That only added to the suspense as you waited for your ride. This old footage takes me right back in time.

With the robot voices and alarms echoing overhead, you followed the queue through bright yellow caution signs and flashing lights. The electronic music and "your time is running out" are as memorable as the dragon that jumps out at you.

Memories are all we have left of that special place. After closing in 1997, Opryland dismantled rides and shut the gates. Some of them were rebuilt and renamed in other parks. A nearly exact replica of Chaos exists at Bobbejaanland in Belgium. It is called Revolution.

If you can't make it across the ocean to relive the thrills of the sister coaster, you can enjoy it from the comfort of your couch. This would also be REALLY cool to watch with a VR headset. It is a simulator created on Roblox.

If you open it on YouTube, there are links to a couple of other recreations as well. I'm still holding out hope that Nate Bargatze's dream will come true and he can bring Opryland back in some form or fashion, but until then, this will have to do!
