Hot Chocolate Hop Returns to Owensboro

Many years ago, I made an amazing discovery when making hot chocolate in the old house where I grew up. I decided to go the old-fashioned route--Hershey's cocoa (the baking kind), sugar, and milk in a pot on the stove.

And then I opened the cabinet to discover something I'd never seen before; Mom had purchased a little bottle of orange extract. Since that time, my love of the orange/chocolate combination has known no bounds, and I try to jazz up my hot chocolate in this way every chance I get. The thing is, when I was young, I experimented with hot chocolate all the time. It's not a bad hobby.

Owensboro's Hot Chocolate Hop

Having looked at the "menu" for the 2024 Owensboro Hot Chocolate Hop, I think I've met my match in the hot chocolate creativity department. The Brew Bridge, Burger Theory, the Owensboro Convention Center, LURE Seafood & Grille, SIP Owensboro, Goodwood, Fetta Pizza, Colby's, Don Mario's, Brasher's Lil' Nashville, The Pub on Second, Mellow Mushroom, Red Swing Coffee, The Creme Coffee House, and Peppermint's at RPC are this year's participating vendors. Just look at what they have planned for us (adult versions will also be available):

Once you've quite literally had a "belly full," walk it off through the streets of downtown Owensboro. Plus, you should NOT miss the dancing lights on the river during a festive occasion like this.

After looking at that list, I realize I'll definitely need to "walk it off." Now, where on Earth did I put that orange extract?
