Late last week the Ontario County sheriff's office announced that the investigation into the on track accident involving NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart, had been completed.  Ontario County authorities were investigating the circumstances surrounding the on track incident in which Stewart stuck and killed fellow driver, Kevin Ward, Jr., on August 9.  The findings of the investigation have now been given to the district attorney's office to determine if criminal charges will be filed.  To this point, no statement of wrongdoing as been made, and no charges filed. A final decision on whether charges will be filed is expected next week.

After the incident, Stewart took a three week absence before returning for the final two races of the regular season.  Finishing well outside of the top ten in both, Stewart did not qualify for the Sprint Cup Playoffs. WBKR.com has now learned that a grand jury has will be impaneled to determine what charges, if any, Stewart might face. Further updates will be given as news becomes available.
