Apparently, This is the Best Winter Destination in Kentucky
Can you guess which Kentucky hotspot was named the best winter destination?
The kids will soon be out of school for winter break. Perhaps you will be trying to find ways to keep them entertained during that time out of school. There are a lot of things that you can do in Kentucky this winter. However, only one place was worthy of being named the best winter destination in the entire state.

Best Winter Destination in Kentucky
Reader's Digest posted an article featuring the best winter destination in each state. The article doesn't mention any criteria they used to come to their conclusions. However, the article does mention: "Whether you're looking for fun in the snow or an escape from the cold, find your perfect spot for a winter getaway."
Out of all of the places in Kentucky that could be crowned the best winter destination in the state, Reader's Digest says that honor goes to none other than Mammoth Cave.
Here's what Reader's Digest had to say about Mammoth Cave:
In summer, Kentucky’s cave systems can get really crowded—but did you know that the caves are actually the same temperature year-round, around 55 degrees? Winter visitors benefit from way fewer people at Mammoth Cave National Park, which means more time for cave exploration and a calmer, quieter atmosphere. Venturing to the surface, the park’s hiking and back-country trails are also more serene in winter without summer’s crowds, and no leaves on trees means visitors can view the landscape and wildlife even better. The Lodge at Mammoth Cave offers on-site, cozy accommodations.
Of course, you can visit Mammoth Cave anytime throughout the year, but if you want to beat the crowds and soak in what that area has to offer, a winter trip might not be a bad idea for you and your family.
