"Scream 7" officially releases tomorrow, February 27th, and this time, Ghostface is coming for Hoosiers.

The "Scream" movies are some of my favorite horror movies. I love the classic who-done-it kind of mystery behind these movies. The first "Scream" came out in 1996 and became quite the phenomenon in the horror movie game. Since then, there have been a total of six installments to the franchise. These movies follow the Ghostface masked killer who targets Sidney Prescott and her friends by using scary movies as part of a deadly game. The last two movies shifted away from Sidney to a new group of characters that are tied to the original murders. In fact, due to some pay disputes, Neve Campbell, who plays Sidney, was not featured at all in the sixth film. However, Neve Campbell is back for the much-anticipated "Scream 7," which drops nationwide tomorrow.

Scream 7 Set in Indiana

The majority of the "Scream" movies take place in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California. "Scream 2" takes place while Sidney is at Windsor College, a fictional college rumored to be in Ohio; "Scream 3" takes place in Los Angeles, and "Scream 6" is set in New York City. However, the newest installment of the franchise will be in a completely different location...Indiana.

While I have yet to see the film, I plan to do so this weekend. From the trailer and synopsis, we know that Sidney and her family live in the town of Pine Grove, Indiana. That's right, Ghostface is coming to Indiana...kind of. Pine Grove is a fictitious town in Indiana. Sidney has moved away from California and Woodsboro, which makes sense given the fact that all of these horrific things happened to her there. So naturally, she'd want to move someplace far away that's safe and quiet. A place where she can build a new life with her family. You know, like Indiana. While the movie is set in Indiana, it isn't actually filmed here. It was actually filmed in Georgia. That being said, Indiana gets some love as the setting of the film throughout the movie.

I'm really looking forward to the newest installment, especially since it's going to be taking place in Indiana, so to speak. All the hype about returning cast members, the who-done-it vibe, and where things go from here has me excited. Who knows, maybe Indiana will be the home of more "Scream" movies in the future!  Are you ready to see "Scream 7" when it hits theaters on February 27th?

16 Indiana Towns with Dirty-Sounding Names

A majority of these towns were given their names in the mid-to-late 1800s as settlers making their way across the country found unclaimed plots of land and decided to make them their own. While I imagine they thought the names they came up with were innocent, and perhaps a tribute to something in their lives, pop culture has warped our minds to the point since then that we can't help but think of something about the town that was never intended by its founders. Take a look at this list. I guarantee there's at least one name that will make you chuckle.
