If you've been to Louder Than Life or Bourbon and Beyond, you already know Danny Wimmer Presents doesn't do anything small.

Now, the company is expanding beyond festival weekends and into something that could bring live music to the region year-round.

DWP Launches New Concert Division

Danny Wimmer Presents has officially announced the launch of DWP Concerts, a new division focused on booking, promotion, and venue development outside of its major festival footprint.

The idea is to take what they've built with large-scale events and apply it to ongoing live music experiences, not just a few weekends a year, but throughout the calendar.

New Amphitheater Planned In Elizabethtown

As part of the expansion, DWP Concerts is partnering with the city of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, to help develop and program a new 10,000-capacity amphitheater.

When it opens, it's expected to become the largest concert venue in central Kentucky.

More details about the venue, including timeline and potential shows, are expected to be announced in the future.

What This Could Mean For The Region

For fans in Kentucky, southern Indiana, and the surrounding area, this could open the door to more consistent touring stops closer to home.

Right now, a lot of major tours skip over smaller markets in favor of larger cities. A venue of this size, backed by a company that already books some of the biggest festivals in the country, could change that.

It also adds another layer to the region that's already become a destination for live music, especially during festival season.

Experience Behind The Scenes

To help lead the new division, DWP says they've brought on Louisville-based talent buyer Billy Hardison, who brings more than 30 years of experience in booking, promotion, and venue operations.

That kind of background suggests this isn't just an idea, but something being built with long-term planning in mind.
