
Travelers Gain New Nonstop Options From Indianapolis Airport
Indianapolis International Airport is adding two more non-stop travel destinations in August.
Two New Nonstop Flights Launching From Indianapolis
Flying can be hectic, and layovers and flight changes can make traveling stressful. When I fly, I much prefer to take direct, nonstop flights whenever possible. If you fly out of Indianapolis like I sometimes do, you just got two new non-stop options.
Southwest Resumes Direct Flights to Chicago
In a press release shared earlier today, the travel hub says Southwest Airlines has made its inaugural nonstop flight from Indianapolis to Chicago Midway International Airport. After a break that lasted nearly 5 years, the direct connection flights will run twice a day, all year long, connecting the Circle City to the Windy City.

Southwest currently flies nonstop from Indianapolis to 19 cities, with Chicago making 20, in the U.S. and Mexico:

Delta Launches New Route to North Carolina
In addition to the newly launched connection to Chicago, Indianapolis International Airport announced another nonstop flight option, this time aboard Delta Airlines. The carrier will begin flying directly to Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

The twice-weekly flight connecting Indiana to North Carolina will begin on August 11, 2025, nearly five years after the route was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Delta nonstop flight resuming this month will give leisure and business travelers an additional option to reach the Raleigh area, the Outer Banks, and the North Carolina’s Research Triangle – offering easy access to the Southeast’s rich cultural and natural attractions.

Currently, travelers can fly Delta direct from Indianapolis to 11 cities in the U.S. and Mexico.
