Sick of Snow? The Old Farmer’s Almanac Has Good News for Spring
Sick of Snow? You Are Not Alone
Raise your hand if you are sick of snow!
There is a reason I did not go live with my mom’s side of the family in northern Wisconsin. I spent summers there as a kid and loved the mild temperatures, but we stayed far, far away in the winter. Below-zero temperatures and piles of snow just are not for me. I will take the 60-degree temps we saw in early January over the snow and cold we have dealt with in late January any day.
Spring Weather Outlook for Kentucky and Indiana
Good news, fellow snow haters. The Old Farmer’s Almanac is predicting some encouraging spring weather for our part of the country.
Spring Precipitation Forecast
While some parts of the U.S. are expected to have a very wet spring, the Kentucky and Indiana area should be drier than normal. Temperatures are also expected to be above normal.
In the Ohio River Valley, the region is forecast to see above-average temperatures in both April and May. If you want to see the forecast for other regions, visit the Old Farmer's Almanac spring forecast page.
Gardening Tips for Spring 2026
If you are planning to plant a garden, the Almanac recommends keeping a close eye on watering due to the drier conditions. It is also smart to watch for any late cold snaps that could damage plants that have already started growing.
