Mark this down as one odd story. Two weeks ago, an interesting auction item was sold on eBay. It just happened to be an NCAA championship ring from 2012, you know, the last time UK won the national title?

Who sold it? The guys at Kentucky Sports Radio opened the comment section and one name seemed to keep popping up. Ah, you thought I was going to spell it out right here and now; out of respect I won't say nor will I speculate. The auction ended on August 4th and the UK ring sold for nearly $5,000.

Now while players selling off trophies, rings, etc. is not an unusual practice, it makes me wonder why? Kentucky is one of the most-storied basketball programs in NCAA history; even if this player didn't actively participate in the championship game, it's a piece of an historic sports legacy.

Let the guessing game begin!
