The Kentucky chapter of the Future Farmers of America was founded in 1930 at the Brown Hotel. As agriculture became a field of study, students and practitioners began gathering for community, education, and career development.

FFA members are usually between 12 and 21, and actively enrolled in at least one agriculture course.  Kids who are interested in a particular aspect of farming are encouraged to learn more and develop those skills.

Maybe a young farmer has a special talent or would like to pursue a certain industry. They can prepare for the future thanks to FFA. Future Farmers of America also has a leadership program and offers scholarships, grants, awards, and recognition to create amazing opportunities for members.

Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman announced a new initiative yesterday that is very exciting.

HOT off the press…I’m excited to announce that Governor Andy Beshear supported my recommendation to start an “FFA for All” program in Kentucky!
So, for the first time, our budget invests $200,000 this year and another $250,000 next year to cover FFA fees for any student who wants to join their local chapter!
This means every child, regardless of income, can learn more about agriculture and leadership. This helps us build the ag workforce, support farm families, and inspire a new generation of leaders in Kentucky as we work to feed a growing world!

That's all we know for now, but making this program accessible to all can only benefit us all.  If you know an FFA leader, you know how it prepares students for success. As you can see from this video, it is a life-changing experience for the better.
