One of my favorite childhood memories centered around those Saturday evenings before Easter Sunday. My sister and I would join Mom in dyeing Easter eggs. Do you remember the process? The vinegar, that copper ring thing with the handle for dipping, and those cardboard trays that couldn't handle all the eggs they were made to handle? What a blast.

The Largest Easter Egg Hunt in Kentucky

Back then, we'd dye the entire carton, so we'd only ever have 12. We would have been hunting for a week, if not weeks, had the number been jacked up to the amount of eggs that will be hidden at Kentucky's largest Easter egg hunt on Good Friday. (And we wouldn't have had that kind of space to begin with.)

Easter Over Louisville

On Friday, April 3rd, the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center will play host to Easter Over Louisville, the largest Easter Egg hunt Kentucky has to offer. That evening, this free event will feature more than 100,000 eggs hidden all over Broadbent Arena. The fun begins at 6 PM with a wrap-up time of 9 PM. But that gives kids and their families to find a lot of eggs. While the event is free, there is a $15 fee for preferred parking. Concessions will also be available for purchase. Bags for collecting eggs will be provided.

Here's a look back at last year's event.

And guess what? Dog the Bounty Hunter, one of the famous "hunters" in the world, will be on hand for selfies with fans.

Every Easter, we are reminded there's no good way to dress up a human to look like a bunny that people would allow in their homes while their children are asleep.
