Kings Island Announces Plans to Close the Vortex Roller Coaster [Video]

After 33 seasons of thrilling park goers, the Vortex at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio is about to ride into history.  The park has announced that the popular roller coaster will close for good after the final day of the season.

I have been going to Kings Island since I was in high school and remember when Vortex opened. It was absolutely awesome and lines to ride the thing were eternally long.  But, at the time, it was one of the first coasters we had ever been on that looped THAT many times.

So, join me in saying "Goodbye" to Vortex!  Thanks for the memories and the many twists and turns in our 33-year relationship.
