The ‘Terror Twins’ Steal the Show at Popular Halloween Haunt at Ohio Amusement Park
Kings Island, the beloved amusement park in Mason, Ohio, is already known for the thrills is provides roller coaster enthusiasts. With coasters like The Beast, Orion, Diamondback, Banshee and more, the park has long been a crowd favorite. Well, this time of year, Kings Island adds some spine-tingling chills to those thrills with its annual Halloween Haunt, which got underway over the weekend.
Each September and October, Kings Island transforms itself into a Halloween lovers haven complete with scare mazes, scare zones and hundreds of 'horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park." This year though, some of the biggest scares aren't coming from the paid actors and actresses hired to torment the guests. No, they're coming from two five-year-old park guests who are unexpectedly (and terrifyingly) becoming the stars of the show.
Meet the Terror Twins!
Now, keep in mind that Kings Island's Halloween Haunt is intended for mature audiences and not recommended for children under the age of 13. But, in the case of Daisy and Daphne Freeman, it was their idea to go!
Their dad Michael says, "They came up with the actual idea to dress scarier than the scare actors."
He also admits that he and his wife were skeptical about letting the girls attend. They even showed them video of actors from previous years to make sure Daisy and Daphne would be able to handle it. Daphne had the perfect response. She said, "If we dress like them, they can't scare us."
So, Michael dressed them up, with the help of a makeup kit from Walgreens, to test the theory. As it turns out, the girls were right.
Over the first three days of Halloween Haunt, Daisy and Daphne became instant hits with the guests and the actors hired to scare them. In fact, the quite disturbing duo discovered how much scarier they are if they stick together.
Michael says, "I have enjoyed watching the scare actors jump out at them and the girls simply tilt their heads and hiss back at them. They are really enjoying this!"
The guests are too. April, a fellow Kings Island Halloween Haunt enthusiast, says, "For a minute, I thought they were paid actors. I really thought Kings Island was upping their creepy game."
Michael, Daisy and Daphne joined the WBKR morning show this week to chat about Halloween Haunt and how they've taken it by storm.
Well, if you want to check out Kings Island's Halloween Haunt, it's open select nights now through November 2nd. And, who knows? If you get lucky (or unlucky), you just may get the crap scared out of you by the Terror Twins!
