KY & IN Pop Culture/History Buffs Will Love This Unique Cincy Museum

I have so many "theme" vacation ideas rolling around in my head. I just need to get busy and start making them come to fruition. One such idea is all about museums.

Think about it. Museums across the country cover a wide variety of subjects. Of course, you have those that focus on the science and history of a particular region; they're all over Kentucky and Indiana and well worth your time. It's always interesting to learn what makes a certain city or county tick.

Then you have museums that tackle a specific area of interest. For example, the Vent Haven Museum in Fort Mitchell KY devotes all its time and energy to ventriloquist dummies, and it is quite a thorough operation, let me tell you.

The American Sign Museum in Cincinnati OH

Drive north out of Fort Mitchell and cross the Ohio River into Cincinnati, and you'll find another museum of unique interest. It's one I'm putting on a bucket list because it pushes all of my buttons. In short, "here's your sign" (and your Frisch's Big Boy):

The American Sign Museum in Cincinnati strikes me as having similar DNA to the American Pickers who have collected their fair share of pop culture signage over the years. But, unlike the Pickers, the American Sign Museum stays on point, always busy adding to its collection. And what a collection it is.

The American Sign Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM until 4 PM EST. Discounts are available for seniors, members of the military, first responders, and students. Children 12 and under get in free. You may purchase advance tickets, but it isn't necessary.
