We already knew this was going to be a brutal flu season. And now we're seeing its effect on a tri-state county.

We've just received word that McLean County schools will be closed Friday due to low attendance as a result of flu-related illnesses.

The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta have been concerned, for a few weeks now, about the 2019 flu season being one of the more active.

And, in fact, they put Kentucky on a list of nine states experiencing "high" flu activity.

And based on a map I found on the CDC's website, that hasn't changed.

Earlier today, I saw where Kentucky counties nowhere near here were having to close school due to the flu, and now it's happened here.

Let's all do everything we can to protect ourselves and each other.
