Meet Fern: WBKR's SPARKY Pet of the Week

Fern is a senior lab from a partner shelter with Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky. She is our featured pet of the week and needs a FURever home-->
Fern, being an elderly lady, has lost most of her hearing. She also has two masses on her, which will be checked later this week to see if we are dealing with cancer or lipomas. Or if it’s one of each. And Fern is heartworm positive, which complicates everything. We are not even sure what to deal with first. This is what we do know. Fern is a sweet old lady who despite having masses and heartworms, also has a heart full of love to give. She can’t hear you speak loving words to her but she knows what you’re saying by the wag of her tail. Fern’s treatment will be expensive. But even more important than her treatment is her comfort. We will be working with the vets to determine how to best treat Fern and make the time she has left as comfortable as possible.
