This photo, and the desperate plea from the Daviess County Animal Shelter, went viral over the last 24 hours. There's good news today, but still so much work needs to be done in order to save these precious animals.

The Daviess County Animal Shelter is out of space and cages for all of the cats and kittens that are flooding into the facility. Their lives are in severe jeopardy. This Mom and her six babies found their foster family today, but many others are just waiting. And, we just keep praying.

As the shelter is drowning in cats and kittens, they need people to foster right away. It's critical. Unfortunately, young kittens that are left at the shelter do not have adequate immune systems to survive. Can you open your heart and home to a pet in need? Please contact the shelter if you can help at 270-685-8275 or email dcacanimals@yahoo.com.

They have MANY cats and kittens that are up for adoption. Fostering is needed for the younger kittens. When they reach 8 weeks-old and have been spayed/neutered, they'll be ready for a permanent home. Until then, their lives are in jeopardy. As you can imagine, the shelter could always use your monetary donations or supplies. Cat litter, food, bowls, blankets, dry kitten food and canned kitten food.

Donations can be dropped off or mailed to the Daviess County Animal Shelter.

This is just heartbreaking. These kittens will NOT survive at the shelter with so many others, and weakened immune systems.
