Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth at a Huge Bake Sale in Owensboro Friday
Friday is shaping up to be a delicious day in the heart of Owensboro. My Sister's Keeper, a local shelter for women and children, is gearing up for its annual Bake Sale and Yard Party at the WBKR Studios in the heart of town. In addition to $5 sack lunches, there is going to be a huge bake sale featuring an assortment of delicious homemade, restaurant-made and store-bought goodies.
My Sister's Keeper Executive Director Angel Welsh gave us a sneak preview of some of the sweet tooth-satisfying treats that will be available for purchase. There will be "cakes, cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, Great Harvest breads and cookies, Chicken Salad Chick White Chocolate Layer Cake and more."
My Sister's Keeper invites you to "come have lunch with us." The fun gets underway, sponsored by Rhoads & Rhoads, at 11am and runs through 1:30pm.
My Sister's Keeper Board Member and Retired Owensboro City Police Department officer Adam Johnston will again be manning the grill and cooking up delicious hamburgers and hot dogs. In fact, a sack lunch will simply cost you a $5 donation and it includes a hamburger or hot dog, chips and a drink.
The WBKR Studios are located at 3301 Frederica Street here in town. Feel free to stop by and join in the fun and fundraising. Or, if you want to coordinate lunch for the office, MSK will make deliveries if you place an order of 10 or more sack lunches.
While you are there be sure to sign up for a family 5 pack of tickets to the Lonestar Rodeo this weekend in McLean County. And, tickets to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in Evansville on Sunday. There's no purchase necessary to register to win!
Of course, if you want dessert, you will have plenty to choose from with the bake sale.

It's a bargain-hunting bus trip that is headed to Nashville to visit some of the biggest and best thrift stores in Music City U.S.A.
