My Sister’s Keeper Women and Children Shelter will offer an array of services to help homeless women and children improve their lives when they open their doors next month. You can find out more about the mission and eat a delicious $5 lunch on Friday.

Angel Welsh, Founder/Executive Director for My Sister's Keeper, has been working hard behind the scenes to get this much-needed shelter open in Owensboro. While shelter construction continues, fundraising efforts ramp up. If you can't make it to the Yard Party and still want to support the mission, there are many items still needed ahead of the Grand Opening of the shelter. Check out the Amazon Wish List below!

MY SISTER'S KEEPER WOMEN AND CHILDRENS SHELTER YARD PARTY

Have lunch with us on the WBKR front lawn on Friday, September 22nd, 2023. Grab a box lunch of a hamburger or hotdog, chips, and a drink. From 11 AM until 1:30 PM we'll be serving lunch for a cause. If you have a sweet tooth, there will also be TONS of scrumptious baked goods for sale. There will be a "special" lemonade you'll want to try to quench your thirst. Old Hickory donated sandwiches, mac & cheese and banana pudding too! My Sister’s Keeper is a wonderful cause to support! Come and join us for all the fun. But, wait there's more!

WHAT IS MY SISTER'S KEEPER?

My Sister’s Keeper Emergency Shelter's mission is to improve the lives of women and children of all ages experiencing homelessness by providing emergency shelter, basic temporary needs, safety, support, education, tools, and resources that empower them to improve the quality of their lives, help to equip them with the skills to achieve self-sufficiency and build safe, secure lives.

YOU CAN FEED WOMEN & CHILDREN AT THE SHELTER

Here are the available days My Sister’s Keeper Women and Children Shelter still needs meals served if you can help.

Meals will need to be prepared for 16-20 people. You can cook whatever you choose, but try to stay "children-friendly".

All of the meals will need to be ready to serve no later than 7 p.m. each night.
