Grab your PJs and sleeping bag! We're talking all things sleepovers on the show this morning! My parents were either saints or had an excellent supply of sleep aids because our house was THE spot for slumber parties. We're talking gaggles of gals making up dances, playing games, chatting with crushes on AOL Instant Messenger, the whole shebang!

In fact, there was a period of time every Fall when we tossed up a tent or two in the backyard so I could have friends over any time, and we would just sleep out there.

My Freshman year of high school, my best gals and I were planning a sleepover for my birthday as we walked into our English class. Our teacher and Owensboro Senior High legend, Ms. Dianne Colvin,  overheard us and asked what we were chatting about as we were getting ready to start the day. I told her I was having a slumber party and cheekily told her she should join us not thinking she'd have any interest.

Well, fast forward to the end of the week as my friends were arriving at our house with their bags and snacks, and birthday gifts. (I am pretty sure I got Destiny Child's Survivor CD that year.) I thought everyone who was coming had arrived, and then the doorbell rang.

It was Ms. Colvin! She had her nightgown on and came right on in ready to join the party! She sat down at the dining room table and stayed for a while, chatting and joking with us. I've always thought she'd make a perfect fifth Golden Girl because of her top-tier snarky, dry humor. We really loved her and still do!  When our paths cross these days, I am always excited for the chance to give her a squeeze and catch up.  I'm also really nervous for her to read one of my stories and critique my grammar!

Do you have any memorable sleepover stories? Good, bad, or ugly, we'd love to hear about them!
