Officials with the Kentucky State Fair have announced beginning this Wednesday, August 21st, a new policy for minors attending the fair will go into effect.

This past Saturday night, several calls came into Louisville news station WAVE 3 saying there was a possible shooting incident at the fair. Many people heard loud noises and large numbers of people were gathering at the fairgrounds.

Kentucky State Police arrested two adults and cited seven juveniles. Troopers say there were kids running around the fair shouting "shooter".

While KSP detectives continue to investigate the incident, beginning this Wednesday, fair attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 years old or older after 6:00 p.m. The new policy will be ID enforced at the gates.

Fair officials will also increase lighting and law enforcement presence during peak hours.
