Owensboro's Penguin Point Restaurant Will Open Next Week [PHOTOS]

It's official. Penguin Point, the new restaurant that is taking over the former Captain D's location on Frederica Street here in Owensboro, has announced its grand opening day! They'll begin to serve customers starting Monday, October 12th!

A couple of weeks ago, Angel's husband Joe stopped by and snapped some photos of the new location:

Penguin Point, which specializes in chicken, burgers and tenderloins, was founded way back in 1950. Since that time, it has expanded considerably (to three states) and has claimed fame for two of its sandwiches. First, here's a commercial for a sandwich that put the restaurant chain on the map- their Tenderloin Sandwich!

The restaurant's second big claim to fame is the Big Wally (Super Wally)!

Currently, there are seventeen Penguin Point locations in Indiana, North Carolina and Kentucky. The 18th location, the one here in Owensboro, will officially open in just a few days! If you can's wait that long and you want to get a sneak peek, here's a look at their menu!
