This Kentucky Man Was a Perfect 3-For-3 at the GRAMMYs . . . Until Last Night

His streak was an impressive, but it was snapped last night. I am talking about Owensboro, KY native Kevin Olusola, who's 1/5 of the a cappella group Pentatonix. Before Sunday evening's GRAMMY Awards, Pentatonix was a perfect 3-for-3. Each time they had been nominated for a GRAMMY, they won it.

And here's a really fun fact. Kevin and his friends have won more GRAMMY awards than some huge names in music: Cyndi Lauper, Marvin Gaye, Melissa Etheridge, Kenny Loggins, Fleetwood Mac, No Doubt, Ariana Grande, Patti LaBelle, Judy Garland, Chris Brown and many, many more. That's pretty impressive.

Also impressive is the streak they were on. That streak started back in 2015 when Pentatonix was nominated in the Best Arrangement, Instrumental, or A Cappella Performance for their song "Daft Punk."

The group took home the trophy that year.  They did it again the next year with this song.

They continued their streak with another GRAMMY Award in 2017 when they teamed up with the legendary Dolly Parton for a version of her hit song "Jolene." They won the trophy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

Last night, the incredible GRAMMY streak of Kevin Olusola and Pentatonix came to its end.

They were nominated for a fourth GRAMMY win, which would have put them among the ranks of artists like Carole King, Lenny Kravitz, Keith Urban, The Weeknd, Tracy Chapman and gospel legend Yolanda Adams.

They were nominated in this highly competitive category.

However, the trophy was awarded to Michael Buble and handed Pentatonix their first-ever GRAMMY loss.

But, heck! This guy still has three trophies and I have a hunch there are more to come.
