My first visit to Pizza Hut as a kid locked in a nostalgia vibe that I will never forget. And the iconic chain has maintained that vibe, in my mind, ever since.

Pizza Hut Nostalgia

That first visit was like the first domino. (Oops, no pun intended.) From that point on, outside of our own beloved Pizza Roma here in Owensboro, Pizza Hut was the go-to destination for dinner out, gatherings after school functions, and church socials. And that trademark swag lamp, those Pac-Man machines, the red booths, and the jukebox, made for an awesome "time capsule" experience. And, of course, there are those wonderful, authentic aromas.

Now, after it appears Pizza Hut was listening, a franchise operator in charge of 38 locations is bringing that trademark red roof is back.

Pizza Hut's Nostalgic Reboot

But that's not all. Those great old red booths, lamps, the salad bar, and, yes, Pac-Man are all making a return. Let's hope that Tim Sparks, the franchisee overseeing more than 80 restaurants, continues with his most welcome nostalgia trip. It helps that Sparks has the same memories that we do and the influence to make those changes.

Fortunately, it's not just Tim Sparks. According to The Dallas Express, more than 140 Pizza Hut restaurants have adopted the re-design, inspired by the first Pizza Hut Classic remodel in Arkansas in 2019.

Pizza is always good, but it somehow tastes better being eaten at a red booth, under a retro swag lamp, with the sounds of Pac-Man wafting through the air.

Retro Pizza Hut Features Making A Comeback

Retro Pizza Huts are making a comeback with red roof buildings, salad bars, Tiffany-style lamps and even Pac-Man machines as operators revive the chain’s nostalgic dine-in experience.
