Popular Pizza Chain to Open Restaurants in Kentucky Walmarts
Remember back in the day when you could treat yourself halfway through your Walmart shopping with some chicken nuggets at the in-store McDonald's? Or grabbing an I-cee at the K-Mart? I definitely take advantage of the Starbuck's at Target and the Ben's Pretzel's at Meijer on occasion.
If you love a good "walking around treat" as you cross things off your shopping list, you'll be excited to know that Walmart is working on a brand new and delicious partnership with one of the most popular pizza chains in the U.S.
Restaurantdive.com reported that in a press release, Mr. Gatti's Pizza restaurant chain announce 92 new "convenience store models" will be popping up in Walmarts across the South later this year. They have been trying things out with a delivery and takeout style version of their regular brick and mortar locations.
It is yet to be seen whether these Mr. Gatti's will have an arcade game or two as a nod to those much larger restaurants with full-on arcades they are most famous for. The Walmart units will be approximately 1,500 square feet, so its possible they will only be slinging pizzas and breadsticks.
Either way, to kick this new venture off, Walmart stores in Texas (where the chain was founded,) Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Kentucky will be the first states to enjoy being the "guinea pigs."
Either way, I'm pretty pumped! I can't even tell you how many times I go grocery shopping, leave with a full cart of food, but no desire to cook. This way, if you're like me, we can just grab a pizza on our way out.
