Central City is hosting a big ole' summer celebration. Whiskey Alibi will perform, food trucks will be there, a cruise-in is planned, and a Backyard BBQ Competition will happen. If a judge is needed, I'm here for it! Sign up your team today and save the date.

Some of my favorite things are coming together all in one place. It's Muhlenberg County's largest celebration of the year. It's always a great time when you can get the classic vehicle out of the garage for some fun in the sun. We're ready to get our '57 Chevy or Chevelle out for the Rods & Ribs BBQ Festival. I can't wait to see all of the tricked-out trucks, muscle cars, and hot rods of all shapes and sizes. I love the music from Whiskey Alibi. They always put on a fantastic show! I can't wait to taste all of the delicious barbeque and food from the food trucks that will be on hand. Central City is a beautiful city, and I can't wait to see my friends.

Rods & Ribs BBQ Festival

Save the date because it's all going down at LuRay Park in Central City on Friday, July 29th, and July 30th, 2022. The festival kicks off Friday with food trucks, vendors, and the setup of the cooking teams. Saturday will have live music from Whiskey Alibi from 5 PM until 7 PM, vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, fun stuff for the kids, and lots of delicious BBQ!

An announcement was made earlier in the week that a fun BBQ Competiton has a new sponsor for the festival. I want to be the taste tester!

"The meeting with Jim Beam Distillery Representative and Kentucky Kookers was a success today. The Rods & Ribs BBQ Festival - Jim Beam Backyard BBQ Competition plans are finalized.

The BBQ Competition will be held inside LuRay Park & Amphitheater and we are set up to accommodate over 50 teams.

If you are interested in signing up for the Rods & Ribs BBQ Competition on July 30th please contact Kenny, Randy, or Bruse at Grillin & Chillin BBQ Cook-Off!

It’s a beautiful, secure venue with water, electricity, and restrooms. Ice and other amenities will be available on-site for convenience to our cookers.

SXS & Golf Carts can be used on city roadways with proper permits. These can be purchased on-site Thursday thru Saturday of Rods & Ribs weekend."

The event will feature all years, makes, and models of the hottest classic cars, trucks, and bikes in the tri-state. Come browse the tricked-out trucks, muscle cars, and hot rods lining 2nd & Broadway in Central City.

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery.
