Smokin'! Central City, KY BBQ Festival & Car Show Coming in June

The event of the summer is coming back to Muhlenberg County this summer. Hundreds of vintage vehicles will make their way to Downtown Central City, meat masters will be smokin' up some mouth-watering bbq, or you can sample the food truck vendors. It's a day of family fun you don't want to miss. Save the date!

I had fun during the Rods & Ribs BBQ Festival/Cruise In last year. How about you? There were hundreds of antique cars, hot rods, muscle cars, jeeps, and bikes on the streets in Central City. We enjoyed live music at Lu-Ray Park & Amphitheater and ate our weight in food! Walking around, meeting new people, checking out the vintage vehicles, and browsing the downtown businesses was a highlight of my summer. We wrapped up our trip with pizza from Papa Mazos. Will you be going this year? I know I'll be having the time of my life.

2023 ANNUAL RODS & RIBS BBQ FESTIVAL/CRUISE-IN

Whether you want to eat some delicious food, listen to live music, show off your classic car, or check out the best vintage vehicles in town, there's something for the entire family at the Rods & Ribs Festival/Cruise-in in Downtown Central City. Multiple food trucks will be lined up for lunch or dinner, listen to live music, grab a drink on the patio at Central City's newest restaurant, Holly J's Bar & Grill, watch the kids be entertained in the play area, or browse hundreds of vehicles in the car show. Save the Date! The festival happens Saturday, June 24th, 2023.

JIM BEAM BACKYARD BBQ COMPETITION

Come hungry and ready to compete! The Jim Beam Backyard BBQ Competition is a highlight of the festival. There's something for all meat lovers to enjoy, from pulled pork, ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage, or bologna. You never know what the teams are cooking up on the smoker. The pitmasters and backyard grillers from across the region hope to be crowned the best in the area. Who will have the best-tasting meat? I can't wait to sample it all.

Central City's Newest Restaurant and Entertainment Hotspot

Holly J's Bar & Grill, a new food, drink, and entertainment venue opened in Central City recently. The family-owned restaurant offers casual dining, a sports bar, weekly specials, live entertainment, an extensive menu, and ice-cold beers. It's the new hot spot in Muhlenberg County.
