Effective today, Great American Smokeout Day, tobacco use and e-cigarette use is prohibited in state-owned buildings and on state-owned property.  The ban includes buildings, sidewalks, parking lots, green spaces and state-owned vehicles.

The state is the largest single employer in Kentucky and the ban affects over 33,000 employees.  It also includes any and all visitors to state offices and properties.

Kentucky becomes just the 5th state in the nation to implement a state-wide ban.
