South Spencer High School Seniors Reserve Their Parking Spots In A Creative Way
As a high school senior you pretty much feel like you've earned your right to rule the school. South Spencer High School students are literally marking their territory in a pretty creative way.
APPARENTLY PAINTED PARKING SPOTS ARE A THING
Angel here and I guess I had no idea painting parking spots was a new rite of passage for seniors. Basically, you are given a parking spot and it's your job to design it in an appropriate manner and make it your own for the year.
GETTING THOSE CREATIVE JUICES FLOWING
Students literally come up with the coolest ideas when it comes to their spot. The South Spencer Seniors did everything from sports to music to food and all the in-between.
I had the opportunity to speak with Emma Hendrix a Senior at South Spencer about her thoughts on the parking spots and how they go about picking spots;
This is South Spencer High School’s 4th year of letting the senior class paint their parking spots. It’s such a fun tradition and a nice way to let the seniors choose a spot for the whole year. We had previously picked out spots last week and had Saturday and Sunday to go out and paint the spots. Our class of 2022 is very creative and outgoing so each spot turns out different and unique. My dad went out Sunday afternoon and took pictures to show off so not all of the parking spots were done at the time due to people being quarantined.
IT'S BECOMING A TRADITION FOR A LOT OF SCHOOLS
Several schools across the Tri-State area are making this a tradition for their seniors. It is something to look forward to as you approach your last year in high school. I remember when I went to Apollo High School and finding a parking spot was hard to do if you didn't arrive at a certain time of the morning. This makes it so much more special.
