Santa Claus is about to turn into Santa Paws here in Owensboro. SPARKY, Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky, is gearing up for its 7th Annual Holiday Pet Portrait event.  And, yes!  That means Santa Claus is coming to town to sit for photos with YOUR pets.

This year's event is incredibly special because it will take place in SPARKY's brand new facility.  Earlier this year, SPARKY purchased the building at 1004 East 18th Street and this will be the first real opportunity the popular animal rescue will have to show off their new facility to the public.

Holiday Pet Portraits will take place between 11am and 1pm on Saturday, December 18th.  As usual, Kenny and Debra King, from Dream Copy Photography, will be taking photos and Santa will be on hand for them as well.

The theme of this year's event is Sledding with Santa!

As you can see, the fee is $20 per pet and all proceeds will benefit SPARKY.

In addition to Holiday Pet Portraits, SPARKY will also have copies of their 2022 Heroes to the Rescue Calendars available for sale.  By the way, if you pick up a copy, be on the lookout for this photo!

That's my new rescue, Fallon!  She made the 2022 calendar and posed with Steve Zoglmann from Owensboro Fire Department.

Fallon is our latest SPARKY rescue.  Kevin and I have four rescues total.  Three of them- Yogi, Simon and Fallon- are from SPARKY!  Brace yourself for the cuteness.  Of course, I have pics to share.

Here's Yogi (a.k.a. Mr. Fancy Pants)!

And here's Miss Fallon, who is celebrating her second full week at the Benefield/Bowlds household.  As you can see, she is quickly getting spoiled.

SPARKY, literally and figuratively, has become part of our family and I encourage you to round up your pups and go have their photos taken with Santa.  SPARKY is committed to using all their resources (and your donations) to find these incredible animals happy and forever homes.
