St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station Opening Soon
I've recently been touting the proximity of Owensboro to all the major metropolitan areas that are a short drive away.
Honestly, I forget about St. Louis sometimes and I absolutely shouldn't. For one thing, we have more St. Louis Cardinal fans in the tri-state than you can shake a stick at.
We also have more fans of really cool giant aquariums than you can shake a stick at.
The Newport Aquarium and the one in Gatlinburg jump to mind.
And now there will be a new one that will only be about three hours away.
On Christmas Day 2019, the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station will open.
The aquarium's website is touting more than 13,000 animals and more than 250,000 gallons of water.
Visitors will enjoy Shark Canyon (ever seen a zebra shark before...in person?), alligator snapping turtles, otter encounters, personalized animal experiences for the kids and so much more.
Plus, a guided behind-the-scenes tour will show us everything we need to know about what it takes to care for the animals in a setting like this giant aquarium.
Some of the most enjoyable experiences I had as a kid were also learning experiences and remains true with kids today.
The St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station means, "Look out St. Louis, here come a whole lot of Kentuckians and Hoosiers."
Other folks are welcome, too. We don't care, right?
