Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started exactly where you'd want to start a NASCAR race, from the pole position. Stenhouse wouldn't stay in the lead long, falling to the back of the pack early on. However, Stenhouse survived a late race crash that gathered up nearly half the field, on his way to winning the Gieco 500 at Talladega Super Speedway.

Talladegda, known for its share of crashes was a fairly clean race, Sunday, until the final 20 laps. Three accidents, causing several caution laps. led to Stenhouse taking the lead in an overtime two lap sprint, and picking up the win. With the win, Stenhouse punches his ticket to The Chase, and will race for the championship when the playoffs begin. Stenhouse and his competitors will return to the track, Saturday, for the Go Bowling 400 from Kansas Motor Speedway. WBKR's coverage will begin at 5:30P.M.
