April 20th, 1992 was a monumental day in Daviess County. That was the day Panther Creek Park on Wayne Bridge Road was dedicated, and suddenly, the county's west side had a massive new attraction to rival the east side's Yellow Creek Park.

We couldn't do without either one of them. At Panther Creek Park, I can't get enough of the hiking trails. I don't know how many times I've used them to "decompress." But the six-acre fishing lake is nothing to sneeze at, either. So, when Saturday, June 1st rolls around, bring your Kleenex, your rods & reels, AND your kid and do some fishing.

Of course, the lake at Panther Creek Park is fully stocked; the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources does that four times a year, most recently on May 9th. So there will be plenty of catfish and rainbow trout on hand.

But it's that TAGGED fish everyone will be hoping hops onto their line Saturday, June 1st.
