How ironic I was just thinking the other day I was so glad Wesleyan Park Plaza was filled with local small businesses.  Now this sad news...

After 44 years of business, being rebuilt after a fire, and many fond memories by numerous families in and around Owensboro The Baker's Rack in Wesleyan Park Plaza is closing it's doors.

Some of my favorite wedding gifts, baby gifts came from there.  I loved just going and looking around!

According to The Baker's Rack Facebook Page they posted this,

The Bakers Rack, a leading Home Accessories and Gift Store in Owensboro, is closing after nearly 44 years of business.

“We sincerely want to thank the Owensboro community for their support and friendship throughout the years,” says owner Anne Baker Leazenby. “We have enjoyed a loyal customer base, made many friends and welcomed many visitors into Owensboro as they came to see us and other well-known local businesses. We will miss the daily interaction with so many people.”

Leazenby continues, “We have always wanted to leave our business on a high note. Now is the time. The community rebuilt us after our store burned in 2002, and we have stayed in business because of that support. We and our associates are now looking forward to other challenging goals and careers, and will remain as active participants in the community.”

The Bakers Rack will remain open until August 30, 2018, as it sells its stock of high-quality home furnishings and accessories. A Going Out of Business Sale will begin Monday, July 9, with everything in the store at 20% off.

The Bakers Rack encourages shoppers to support local businesses whenever possible, as we believe in the power of community, and know the value of knowledgeable sales staff to educate and coordinate your purchases.

Shop LOCAL!  Owensboro is blessed with some of the most amazing small businesses.  If you have the opportunity take the time to support them.
