WBKR is proud to announce that we have taken over Owensboro's annual Pumpkinfest.  And it's coming to the Owensboro Sportscenter and Moreland Park on Friday, Sept 21st and Saturday, Sept 22nd.  To find out what The Country Station has in store for you, KEEP READING!  This event is going to be an incredible start to the Halloween season with activities for kids AND adults!

First, let's start with the kids.  WBKR is pleased to announce a partnership with Great American Shows, who will be bringing their carnival to town.  Rides will be open from 4pm to 10pm on the 21st and from 10am to 10pm on the 22nd.

In addition to Great American Shows, WBKR is also bringing in Incredible Inflatables, who will be set up on the opposite end of the festival with a variety of attractions, like bouncy houses, the joust, obstable course, velcro wall and more.  As with the carnival, wristbands will be sold and will allow for unlimited usage of the attractions.

WBKR is partnering with Trunnells Farm Market for a giant pumpkin patch which, naturally, will be the focal point of the festival.  Pumpkins will be available for purchase and there will also be a special area for pumpkin decorating.

Two new events are definitely going to be crowd favorites.  First up . . . WBKR's "The Run for Your Life" Zombie 5K.  Yep!  Runners will take their marks and aim for the finish line, while zombies will be hot on their trail.  For more information about the run and to register, CLICK HERE!

That event is Friday, Sept 21st.  On Saturday, Sept 22nd, WBKR proudly presents The Pumpkin Princess Pageant.  Applications are currently being accepted for contestants ages infant t0 13-years-old.  For information about the pageant, CLICK HERE!

Of course, Pumpkinfest wouldn't be a street festival without a wonderful selection of food vendors and arts and crafts booths.  Coming soon to WBKR.com, we'll have a list of vendors who'll be joining us and a complete list of entertainers who will be performing on the Showmobile stage!

In the meantime, mark your calendars and make plans to join WBKR at the 2012 Pumpkinfest!
