54 years ago today I delivered the bad news to Lubbock: her hometown boy, Buddy Holly, was dead. He died in a plane crash at Cedar Lake, Iowa the day before. I was a paper boy for the Avalanche-Journal, Lubbock's newspaper where you can read a lot about Holly.

Waylon Jennings could have died in that plane crash, too. He should have been on the plane but he gave up his seat to J.P. Richardson, better known as "The Big Bopper".

I was just thinking today, what we would have missed if Waylon had died, too? Among many recordings here are just the singles we'd never known. Thanks to Wikipedia. Click on the highlighted ones. It'll give you the deep information.
