Popular ‘Bunches of Lunches’ for Western Kentucky Nonprofits Returns to Owensboro Restaurant

It's back! After a fun and rewarding 2023 season, The Windy Hollow Biscuit House in Owensboro, KY is again teaming up with Townsquare Media to celebrate nonprofits throughout the area. Last year, Evelyn "Rooster" Miller, owner and operator of Windy Hollow, approached The Country Station, 92.5 WBKR with an idea. She wanted to do something to give back to local nonprofits.

That nonprofit world is something Rooster knows all too well. She spent years working as the Executive Director of the American Red Cross. Rooster knows what it takes to run a nonprofit and she understands the amount of time and heart the employees put into them. So, she and her daughter Hallie wanted to cook up a way to honor them.

In 2023, we launched 'Bunches of Lunches' and invited nonprofits in western Kentucky and southern Indiana to register to win free lunch. Over the course of the year, we randomly selected winners and delivered portable buffet lunches to charities like CASA of the Ohio Valley, Audubon Area Head Start, Matthew 25 AIDS Services and more. This year, we're inviting our winning nonprofits to come to the Windy Hollow Biscuit House for a lunchtime party!

The 2024 Bunches of Lunches officially kicks off in March and we're inviting nonprofits in the area to sign up to win. If you are selected as one of our monthly winners, we're going to feed up to 20 of your staffers and volunteers in the banquet room at the Windy Hollow Biscuit House!
