Today the kids are back in Owensboro and Daviess County schools. Do your kids have a cell phone, iPad or tablet? They will probablly lose it before the year is out.  A back-to-school survey from Asurion shows that one-third of teens have damaged their phone by dropping it in the last 18 months, with most accidents happening at school. Accordind to the survey, 71% of kids from the ages of 10 to 15 have cellphones.

More schools than ever are allowing students to use their own laptops, iPads, and cellphones in the classroom, making these devices even more popular with students.

According to the survey, 61% of students use their cell phones regularly, followed by their laptops (46%) and their tablets (40%).

It’s not a question of if, but when your child’s phone will be damaged; 57% of parents said their kids have lost or damaged a device in the last 18 months, with 51% having to replace at least two phones for their kids. That can take a toll on your wallet if you’re uninsured, with the retail price of a new smartphone averaging $476. And an iPhone 5 (with 64GB) cost $849.99 at full retail price!

Insurance may help but how many times will they allow coverage?

Good luck y'all.
