Chadwick Benefield

Chad here! After 11 years of being one half of The WBKR Waking Crew and The CB Radio Show, I am now one half of the all-new Morning Drive on 92.5 with Chad & Angel. Our show runs 6a-10am CST Monday through Friday and I also co-host The BKR's Dozen Countdown with Dave Spencer each Saturday morning at 8am. In addition to flapping my lips on the air, I emcee a variety of events all over the state of Kentucky. I emcee charity functions, beauty pageants and dance competitions. I love country music. In fact, I love all kids of music. I listen to everything from Justin Moore to Katy Perry to Sam Smith to David Nail to Kings of Leon to Garth Brooks to Kelly Clarkson to J Hud and Pitbull. I love tennis and reality television. When I am not working I am likely on the sectional watching America's Got Talent, Project Runway, The Biggest Loser, American Horror Story, and pretty much anything on The Tennis Channel or ESPN. I vacation . . . a lot! I love Mexico and any place I can get to on a cruise ship. I live in Owensboro with Kevin, Dolly, Ellie and a cat named Oprah.

Throwback Thursday: Remembering Ruby Tuesday at Towne Square Mall

I don't know about you, but there was a time that Ruby Tuesday was my absolute favorite restaurant in town.  When I was a junior and senior at Daviess County High School, my friends and I had a ritual.  Ruby Tuesday nearly every Friday night.  Beef & Bird and those amazing pumpernickel breadsticks.  It's been years since Ruby Tuesday closed up shop here in Owensboro and now the company is doing the same at nearly 100 locations nationwide.

The Kip Moore Krispy Kreme Challenge [Video]

Our Nashville insider, Nashville Kat, told us this week that country music singer Kip Moore admits that he can eat a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts in one setting.  Angel, apparently feeling a little too big for her britches, said, "I could eighteen if there were hot off the belt."  So, we put her to the test.  We got a dozen hot Krispy Kreme donuts and subjected her to the Kip Moore Krispy Kreme Challenge.  And here's the hysterical play-by-play!

The Licki Brush: Would You Lick Your Cat? [Video]

I love my cat Oprah.  And, yes.  That's her name.  Really, I do.  She's fun to take naps with.  And I don't mind petting her when she jumps up on the arm of the chair and nudges my hand.  I love her so much that will actually change her food constantly because she's so darn picky.  And only love is an emotion strong enough for me to clean out a litter box.  Truly.  Because that is NASTY!  But, yes.  I do indeed love my cat.  But there are limits.  And, regardless of the fact that this bizarre new product called the Licki Brush wants me to, I am certainly not going to lick Oprah so she feels wanted, appreciated and loved.  Have you all seen this thing?

Chad and Angel Ride with Team Aeroshell for Owensboro Air Show [Video]

The Owensboro Air Show is the weekend in downtown Owensboro.  The show features many pilots and teams including the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and the U.S. Army Golden Knights.  On Thursday, Angel and I had the chance to climb in and ride with Team Aeroshell.  These 1940's warplanes are aerobatic and, like the "mighty ducks", fly together.  REALLY close together.  Check out our video!  This weekend, you'll see what it's like to watch Team Aeroshell from below.  But here's what a ride them looks like on board!

Behind-the-Scenes Photos from Volumes of Blood: Horror Stories [Photos]

If you saw Volumes of Blood, you know that I had a cameo at the end of that film.  I played a library security guard who showed up at the tail-end of a massacre.  Yep!  Wrong place at the precise wrong time.  In fact, my character and his flashlight were no match against the deranged killer and his knife.  The end result- I was disemboweled and spewed blood out of nearly every orafice.  In Volumes of Blood: Horror Stories, you learn what my character was doing before he was called away for emergency patrol.  No spoiler alerts are necessary, but here are some photos from the shoot!
