You've heard us talk about it. You have heard us slobber over it. Heck, you've even heard us try to talk to you guys on the radio with our mouths full of it. It's Dorothy Simpson's MONKEY BREAD! And, we decided that it's only fair (because we torture you with its aroma and flavor on a regular basis) to share the recipe with you once and for all here at WBKR.com. Ladies and gentlemen, WBKR proudly presents the award-winning, mouth-watering, get-out-of-my-way-I've-got-a-plastic-knife-and-a-dream-inducing recipe for MONKEY BREAD, courtesy of Tell City, Indiana's resident "Sweet Genius," Dorothy Simpson. ENJOY!!

Yes, I know. This is a completely random question. And, yes! I know. It's SO twenty-three years ago. Do you remember the movie Steel Magnolias? I'm sure you do. Dolly Parton played a hairdresser named Truvy and, at a certain point in the film, she gets asked about one of her famous recipes. That recipe is called Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa. Olympia Dukakis' character, Clairee, wants Truvy to give her the recipe and Truvy says, "You don't need a recipe. It's just a cup of flour, a cup of sugar and a cup of fruit cocktail with the syrup. Stir and bake in a hot oven until golden brown and bubbly." So, Thursday morning on the WBKR Waking Crew, Nashville Kat, Moon and I wondered . . . does this REALLY work?

Yesterday, the staff of WBKR had a lovely potluck lunch. Well, it was lovely, until my southern card was pulled! I know what you're saying... Have you heard this girl? Well, apparently it doesn't matter that I sound like I came straight from Dollywood or that I've lived in either Tennessee or Kentucky my whole life. All was questioned when my (normally friendly) general manager realized I had no idea what ham hock is!
Country music superstar Trisha Yearwood brings her family-inspired recipes and food traditions to Food Network this spring, with the premiere of the new daytime series Trisha’s Southern Kitchen on Saturday, April 14th at 9:30am CST
We have the door, the clock, the trash can, the dry erase board, the chairs, and...the orange. Yes, the orange. It has become a permanent piece of the room here in the WBKR studio.
This afternoon, I will be filling in for Dave Spencer and taking The Drive Home on the road. Join me from 2pm to 7 at Owensboro's Chick-Fil-A for our St. Jude Radiothon kick-off broadcast. We'll be serving up the Chick-Fil-A and portions of the proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children's
