Back in the 1982, I wasn't listening to country music. Well, let me correct that. I wasn't listening to country radio. I was listening to pop and rock. But those stations were playing plenty of country music at the time--Eddie Rabbitt, Alabama, Ronnie Milsap, and, yes, Willie Nelson.

In 1982, what would become Willie's best-selling solo single--"Always on My Mind"--was released to country AND pop radio. It spent two weeks at #1 on the country charts and peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles chart.

An across-the-board smash if ever there was one.

In honor of Willie's 80th birthday, the video of a live performance of that timeless classic is once again making its rounds on YouTube and VEVO.

Enjoy.
