KY Non-Profit Hosts Boo Bash Halloween Party: Food, Drinks & Fun!

Cut holes in your sheets and put on your dancing shoes because a "spooktacular" event is coming to Owensboro on October 27th. My friends at the Opportunity Center of Owensboro are hosting the very first "Boo Bash!" This will become an annual fundraiser to support programs throughout the year, and most importantly raise awareness for the amazing work they do for the community.

The Opportunity Center of Owensboro

The Opportunity Center, founded in 1956 by a group of parents, is a day center in Owensboro serving folks with developmental and intellectual disabilities. They provide a fun and safe setting for their 70-plus clients to explore different hobbies, navigate social situations, and learn new things like life and employment skills. I recently visited to learn about the nutrition program they have implemented which has been a HUGE hit with participants. You can learn more about that here:

During my visit, I was greeted with open arms, sweet smiles, and fun conversations that immediately made me feel welcomed. So I have no doubt that this party they are throwing is going to be an absolute blast!

Costumes are "optional" but I hope y'all show out! There will be a contest for individuals as well as groups, so start planning now for those bragging rights. Artists from the Opportunity Center will also be selling their art that evening. I can't wait to see what amazing creations they have made. They're so creative and talented.

Nona's Catering will be creating an impressive spread of delicious food. As always, it is sure to be a "BOO-tiful" showstopper! Remember those dancing shoes I mentioned? That's because The Answer Band will be performing and you're gonna want to BOOgie the night away. The cash bar will help inspire some dance moves for sure!
