A few years ago while working at a college radio station, we decided we needed to increase our library of Christmas music. And of course, instead of thinking about it during the summer, or even the fall, we waited until around the first of November to do it. We were given access to a very large amount of Christmas music from all genres and we had to go through it to pick out what would fit our format best.

I enlisted the help of James, a friend of mine who was also a DJ at the station. James actually went through the bulk of the music narrowing it down for me. During our little "trip" through the tunes, we found a lot of versions of classic christmas songs that we had never heard. This got us into a conversation about what we thought were the best versions and why there were so many versions of certain songs.

I remember coming across something like 2 or 3 versions of dogs barking "Jingle Bells" and we asked ourselves why... We also came across several versions of "Last Christmas". Again with some of the versions we found ourselves asking why, but there were some that I actually enjoyed.

So here is the list of my top 5 favorite versions of my favorite Christmas songs:

5: Believe- Josh Groban

4: All I Want for Christmas is You- Michael Bublé

3: The Christmas Song-Christina Aguilera

2: Baby, It's Cold Outside- Lady Antebellum

1: Last Christmas-Wham!
