"I love life, music, my family and my friends. And I would give them the world if I could. Guess that's my mission in this lifetime." -- Mickey Guyton

It's what kicks off her website. I'd guess another mission for Mickey Guyton is giving us stunning new music like her debut single, but we'll get to that later.

Mickey is an Arlington, Texas native who grew up on Dolly Parton, Leann Rimes, Whitney Houston, and the gospel music of Bebe and Cece Winans.

Last March, she released an EP called Unbreakable and is currently working on finishing up her official debut full-length album.

She attended in college in Los Angeles, where she made some important connections, before moving to Nashville in 2011 when she signed with Capitol Records.

Since that time, Mickey has performed at the White House alongside the likes of James Taylor, Dierks Bentley, Kris Kristofferson, The Band Perry, Darius Rucker and Lyle Lovett. It was part of the "In Performance at the White House" special which was broadcast on PBS.

And now, we have Mickey's amazing debut single "Better Than You Left Me," a great country waltz about moving on and being strong...and an earlier candidate for my personal Best of 2015 list.
