The 35th annual WBKR/WOMI Telecom Pioneers Christmas Wish office is up and running at Towne Square Mall.  We are expecting a very busy year and we are already off to crazy start!  At the end of Day Two, we had received just under 400 letters and they continue to pour into the office.  We have lots of calls about how you can submit a letter to Christmas Wish, how to make donations, how to volunteer time, what kinds of supplies we need in the office and more.  So, Jaclyn and I decided to take you behind the scenes and try to answer your questions.  So, come on!  Let's take a tour of Christmas Wish right here at WBKR.com!

WBKR's Ultimate "Dirty Santa" Party is Saturday night at The Hines Center in Philpot!  And, the WBKR staff is getting ready for the big night!  In fact, for the last week, we've basically looked like Santa's elves because we have been wrapping 300 presents.  I'm pretty sure our receptionist Roxianne never cares if she sees a roll of wrapping paper or Scotch tape ever again.  But, Thursday afternoon, she got a little relief from Jaclyn, who decided that she would show off her mad gift-wrapping skills to the camera!

A couple of years back, Moon and I were dared to eat sardines live on the air.  And it didn't go really well.  Moon bought a can of sardines that were coated in mustard and they were gnarly!  Mine were coated in some kind of olive oil or sesame oil or peanut oil or motor oil!  Whatever it was, they were just as bad as Moon's!  But, we accepted the challenge, ate the sardines and paid for it the rest of the day.  We both smelled like the coast of Maine for about 24 hours.  So, we decided that it was time for Jaclyn to face her fears . . . and eat a nasty old sardine!

Ryan Murphy, the guy who created Glee, now wants to make you pee!  And, with the help of his Glee co-worker and co-creative partner, Brad Falchuk, he is doing just that every Wednesday night with the FX original series American Horror Story!  When Dave Spencer and I were co-hosting our movie review show The Screening Room, we had pretty much given up on the horror movie genre.  Studios realized that for these types of movies to really make money, they had to be rated PG-13.  After all, the teenagers were the ones going to the cinema and buying the tickets and, more importantly, buying all those cheeseball special effects and watered-down scary-movie devices.  But, suddenly, the genre is alive and well on the small screen.  With HBO's True Blood and AMC's The Walking Dead, horror has a new home on the tube.  And horror's newest home of all, American Horror Story's MURDER HOUSE, is the most terrifying of them all!
