Many of country music's biggest stars--many of them Oklahoma natives--sent their best wishes, thoughts, and prayers via Twitter to those affected by the massive EF-5 tornado that tore through Moore, Oklahoma on Monday, killing 24.

The devastation in Moore, Oklahoma goes beyond comprehension and the death toll, unfortunately, continues to rise after yesterday's massive tornado that all but leveled the town of Moore. All of us in the Tri-State want to do anything we can to help and the best way to help is by making donations to the American Red Cross by calling 812-471-7200 or online at redcross.org/tristate.

Revisit Owensboro’s 2000 F-3 Tornado [Video]
I remember January 3rd, 2000 very well.  It was a holiday here at WBKR studios and I had worked for a couple of hours early that morning.  By that afternoon, it was sunny.  Our temperatures were hovering near 80 degrees and I was ready for a big afternoon nap.  That nap was cut short.  Cut short by blaring emergency alert sirens ringing through Owensboro-Daviess County.  I jumped out of bed and he

The tornado (we think it was one) that blew past the WBKR studios on Friday afternoon took me back 12 years to 2000. That F3 tornado (we knew it was one) that ripped through Owensboro on January 3 created the exact same high-velocity visuals we saw just two days ago. Yes, Friday's storms took me back 12 years. The sirens took me back even farther.

We were listening to and watching the Eyewitness News severe weather coverage. It got windy, and then, very suddenly, horizontal rain and hail blasted the WBKR parking lot. Steve Horn's pickup truck moved sideways about 6 to 8 inches and filled up with ice pellets.

Hurricane Irene and Owensboro Tornado Seem More Frightening From Afar
Now that the east coast has, thankfully, said, “Good night, Irene,” I’d like to toss in my two cents regarding a comparison between the hurricane and our very own beloved 2000 tornado. First, I can’t speak for any of those who were affected by Hurricane Irene, nor would I make that attempt. But after seeing a photo of Irene from space, I thought, “That’s what I would have liked to have seen eleven
