The States with the Most Drunk Drivers [Survey]

Well, there's good news and bad news for the states in the WBKR listening area.  Live Science has just published the list of the states with the most drunk drivers.  Fortunately for Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois, we didn't land inside the Top Ten.  However, we didn't land too far outside it.  Look!

According to Live Science, Hawaii is the state with most drunk drivers.  In fact, according to the statistics provided (courtesy of a study by the Centers for Disease Control), the island has 995 drunk driving episodes per year per 1,000 residents.  And, it seems folks in the Midwest have a strong propensity for driving while intoxicated as well.  For example, in North Dakota, there are a staggering 855 reports per 1,000 people in the population.

Here's how the states in the WBKR listening area fared (according to the report) . . .

Kentucky- 388

Indiana- 432

Illinois- 475
